Ce n\u2019est pas un livre religieux, mais une enqu\u00eate sur les douze ap\u00f4tres, men\u00e9e par un auteur non croyant, mais qui a eu une \u00e9ducation religieuse, et sait donc de quoi il parle. Il s\u2019est int\u00e9ress\u00e9 aux s\u00e9pultures suppos\u00e9es de chacun de ses ap\u00f4tres fondateurs du christianisme et a remont\u00e9 la piste. Passionnant et \u00e9rudit. Cela tient sans nul doute \u00e0 sa vie et \u00e0 sa conception de l\u2019\u00e9criture. Ici pas d\u2019esbrouffe, pas d\u2019effet litt\u00e9raire, mais une langue pure, taill\u00e9e au scalpel, pourtant extr\u00eamement lyrique. Lire De Luca est un pur bonheur que j\u2019ai connu malheureusement assez tardivement\u00a0; depuis je rattrape mon retard et d\u00e9vore ses nombreux ouvrages. Celui-ci est autobiographique. Il y raconte son enfance dans le sud de l\u2019Italie, \u00e0 Naples. Il peint sa ville et sa famille avec une immense tendresse et sans jamais juger les gens. Les sentiments sont magnifiquement rendus et les personnages inoubliables. Cet \u00e9crivain du XX\u00e8me si\u00e8cle est connu pour avoir \u00e9t\u00e9 un chroniqueur exceptionnel du Tour de France, pour le journal \u00ab\u00a0L\u2019Equipe\u00a0\u00bb. Mais il est avant tout un des plus grands prosateurs du XX\u00e8me si\u00e8cle. Ce roman est une sorte de drame familial provincial, entre un fils vell\u00e9itaire, une m\u00e8re tyrannique et une belle-fille paum\u00e9e. Mais tout est trait\u00e9 avec une ironie joyeuse et nous rions de ce drame auquel, par la gr\u00e2ce de l\u2019auteur, on ne croit qu\u2019\u00e0 moiti\u00e9. Les portraits sont savoureux et le style all\u00e8gre.
